The nasty cycle OR Where I've been

Do you have any idea how much time I spend dreaming of happy, scrappy, totally fun projects?

A lot.

Do you know how much time I spend actually executing said projects?

Not as much as I'd like.

That's probably the story for most of us, isn't it? Or, at least I'd like to comfort myself by thinking that's the case.

It's funny, because blogging seems to be one of the things that keeps me going with my sewing. It keeps me inspired (reading other blogs), trying harder (for fear of negative comment when I share my own projects), and challenging myself in ways that I probably wouldn't if it weren't for all of you. At the same time, when life gets busy, it's the first thing to go from  my schedule which is really a shame.

I've been finding myself in a nasty, vicious cycle of blogging and not blogging. I've finally figured out what's happening with me and it has nothing to do with not wanting to take the time to share what I'm working on or read what all of the blogs I follow have to say. It simply comes down to time.

I'm lucky that I love what I do from 9–5 as much as what I do from 5–9 but there are times when my day job gets busy AND I have small freelance projects AND I have a regular, quarterly freelance job and when all of these things align, my life gets crazy hectic and all I have time to do when I'm home is make dinner, do the laundry, and get in bed.

It seems I've been in one of those cycles again. And I am grateful that it is now March and I have a month or so of breather time before it gets that busy again.

I have been working on things the past month, though. So, even though I haven't shared my projects here, I have been sewing, sewing, sewing. Sewing so much that I have to take my machine in for another cleaning already!

So, hopefully some new posts are to come. It's a beautiful day out there so maybe I'll get out and shoot some photos and then get my butt back here to share. Just maybe.

Although, maybe I won't share everything . . . I mean, I'm pretty sure you don't want to see all of the hemmed pants and clothing repairs (why can't clothing companies sew buttons on better, seriously?).

Oh, by the way, have I mentioned that I hate tax season? Yeah, it's that time of year again. Feeling a bit grumpy this afternoon. How about you?

I'm STILL fighting a sinus infection and so I think I might be on the grumpy wagon with you. Headache, you hear me? GO AWAY!!

And yeah, why can't buttons be sewn on better? I am right there with you on that one.

Glad that you feel like you'll have a little breather; take some time to relax for sure!!

Well, we'll still follow you even if you can only post irregularly. =)

Looking forward to seeing what you've been up to!
