I have a tendency to take things personally. It's a bad, bad thing. At the same time, this very tendency also makes me a pretty sentimental, sensitive, and insightful person. Which, I think, isn't really such a bad thing. I guess you could call me a woman of extremes.
For that reason, I've never found myself to be the kind of girl with a bunch of girlfriends. I just can't take the cattiness. I have more often than not found that my closest friends have been boys—I'm sure many of you can relate. There's just so much less fussiness and talking behind one another's backs with boys and that's how I like it. I suppose this might have something to do with having spent four years at an all-girls high school . . .
Well, now that I'm (as a friend recently wrote to me) a married woman of my upper 20s, I'm settling into some female friendship that I really do believe will last me a lifetime. This is a first for me and something I am really coming to cherish. Some of you—and you know who you are—have the uncanny ability to pull me out of a funk, to say what I need to hear right when I need to hear it, and to set me straight (yes, that is needed on occasion). I couldn't be more thankful for you—you really are a dream come true and I love each and every one of you.
This week, one of you especially touched my life with a little gesture that said (at least this is the way I interpreted it) "I'm thinking of you"—and that meant a lot to me. It's funny that this little package arrived yesterday right when I needed it (I had spent part of the day in court and the rest of the day really stressed at work). We don't talk every day or share a ton of details of our lives with one another—in fact, we've never even met. But, still, I was the benefactor of a little bit of serendipity when this envelope arrived. A happy little thank you for trying to find a fabric we were both in search of . . . but apparently she found it and swapped it first and made sure that I received some of it, too.
Ahh, the out-of-print Wishing Flowers from Riley Blake's Andrea Victoria. I've been crushing on you for quite some time. And you're every bit as darling as I thought you would be!
Thank you, Mary Claire, for being such a sweet person and for picking me up on a day when I so desperately needed it!
Thanks, too, to Dar (Dizzy4Fabrics) for swapping with Mary and sending this perfect little package for her!

If we were guys I would say to you, "I love you man!".
But we're not, so I'm here about to cry thinking about how some things are just meant to be. You are a good egg Miss Alecia and am so happy we are friends!
You're right. Some things just are meant to be. I guess we should thank Denyse Schmidt for bringing us together, right? That FMF swap was where it all began. And, I'll go out on a limb here and say "I love you, man!" regardless of our gender. Haha!
what a lovely little life-you-up!
I tend to take things a lot more personally than I should too!
Yeah, I'm clapping for you two!
